Frog Enviromental's websiteOne important area of compliance all facilities must complete is to have storm water samples taken during rain events and measured for pollutants which must be below a normal acceptable level (NAL). The calculations for a facility to comply can become extremely complex with varying pollutants, rules for averages, instantaneous maximums, minimum sample counts and differences if the facility did not comply in a previous year. Amid a year with large growth in their customer base, Frog Environmental partnered with Infoshape Software to build a custom software solution that automated the complete process of receiving and analyzing sample results. In their first year with the automation, Frog Environmental was able to collect 3 times as many sample results as the prior year and had better insight during the year with several reports to know where they could most effectively utilize their resources for upcoming rain events and which customers needed the most help.

To assist in keeping customers in compliance, Frog Environmental notifies the facility a day before there is forecasted rain so the customer can follow the best management practices Frog Environmental has established for the facility. Infoshape Software built a solution integrating with Dark Sky Weather API (now Apple WeatherKit) and Mailgun to automate the process of checking weather forecasts for facilities several times per day and sending large batches of emails through Mailgun to notify them. The result was more facilities being rain ready and a reduction in exceeding the NAL for their customers.
I need app integrationIn additional to automating processes, Frog Environmental was able to eliminate several paper forms like the Monthly Observation Form with Best Management Practices (BMPs) and replace it with an online solution from Infoshape. Employees and contractors use tablets when performing monthly observations and BMPs. Results can be shared with the customer before leaving the site and a history of the results can be easily accessed and analyzed per facility or globally.
